Little Monster come in all shapes and sizes, with all kinds of personalitites, and many different likes and dislikes. Their favorite past time is usually scaring other adoptables. Why Little Monsters? Because! They just aren't your average adoptable breedable pet, and I love drawing them so others can enjoy them. No bed is complete without a Little Monster underneath!
Owning a little monster is fairly easy, despite what you may think. They need loving homes with lots of hiding places, and maybe a stable or two to run around in!! Lots of things to rip up and destroy is a big plus. The only way to get a Little Monster is to purchase one in the PONY ISLAND ADOPTABLES sub forums when PieBob holds a sale event of some variety. The Little Monsters featured here are strictly for that site, and are a completely stand-alone division of the Little Monsters Adoptables. Paid users only, please!
You may trade your little monsters with other PI paid users for PG, BP, or other adoptables. PieBob MUST be alerted as to who the new owner is. This way I know where the little monster is going and who will take care of it. Monsters can become very irritable if passed around too much, so be careful readopting them! Please see the Reselling rules in the Rules section for more info. Little Monsters are not to be sold for real life money, or auctioned.
Little Monster genetics kind of work like the Pony Island genetics. There are standard types of monsters (view the Types section of the site) and each type can have mutations and special colorations. Every single monster is unique, no two are alike!
On the monster certificate you recieve, the special traits your monster has will be listed in the little section at the bottom. Rececive, or traits that the monster carries but are not visible will be listed as well. [if you discover your monster is a carrier and it is not listed on the certificate, just send a note to PieBob for an update]
Carrier genes may turn up in Gen 1 monsters at any breeding, because their parents are wild and it is impossible to tell if they carry anything until they are bred. If a monster does not show a gene or mutation, but its parents had the mutation, the monster is a carrier, like the ponies on PI.
Hair is a mutation in some types of monsters, but not in all. Day monsters always have hair, I do lineart edits to make their hair unique :D Hair styles are often passed on to children. That is not a mutation because they all have it. If it is a special type of hair, like Curly, or mohawk or something like that, it is considered a mutation.

Little Monsters have a few normal stages. The stages are Egg, Baby Monster, and Adult Monster. In some special cases monsters may become Advanced, a stage beyond Adult. This may happen randomly to well cared for monsters, or be stated ahead of time in special cases. (Like a special 4-stage auction or event.)
Most Gen 1 monsters are captured as babies, because it is very difficult to find monster eggs in the wild. They blend in too well with dustbunnies and random debris.
Monsters grow at varying speeds, like children and animals. It just depends on the monster, and how busy PieBob is. Do not worry, it will grow someday! Don't bug PieBob to grow your pet, because it will just make the pet grow slower o_o!
PieBob is the Pony Island account you should contact with ALL monster needs. Do not mail to whine, complain, or bug PieBob, for it is not appreciated. I am a busy sort of person, and Monsters will be released and grown as often as possible. Sometimes it just might take a little while. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
It is not a requirement that you post your monster on a seperate site for your adoptables, but you can if you like. They can live happily on a PI presentation page too. Please link back to this site to give credit when you post them on your adoptables page! All monsters are also located on this site for easy reference. Do not post your monster on other adoptable or graphics sites, and when you can, please use your own image hosting to show them off. Thanks!

I use .gif images for all the website items, and .png for the monster certificates and images. These are not supported on all web browsers yet, so if you need help or the monster images look funny, please let me know and I can save your monster in another file version for your convenience!
